Jaque Fourie is in town this weekend. Did some riding
at the beach yesterday and hit up Gateway today. Looks like Gateway is getting
a bit of a overhauling. Wavehouse is busy with repairs to the Pro park at the
moment.

The Zero Offset Flatland Jam
was a massive success! You would not believe the flatland skill out there. Although
Flatland is still very underground; these Joburg cats represent!
Sibankey and I drove up early Saturday morning hung out at a bike store or 2,
some business stuff, and then moved on down to Asia City for an early session
with Danny and newly appointed Team rider Sean
Shuping. We spent a few hours riding the very dusty but comfortably grippy
parking lot.
 |
 |
| Here`s
Sean warming up. |
- Danny steam rolling. |
We kicked it in early for the next days jam; had to get some shut eye and munchies.
Sunday was a little damp outside, but when you organize a jam in a covered parking
lot there's not much to worry about, what a awesome place to session. 11 names,
(yes!! 11 flatland entries!) down to ride and we were ready to go.
 |
 |
| Registration. |
- Ready an waiting |
 |
 |
| Soweto
boys in the mix. |
- Vusi squeaker |
 |
 |
| The
winner! Dopey |
- Justin burning a funky chicken |

 |
| Me,

- Sean killing it. |
A giant thanks to Asia City Mall, Primo Products and all the riders and spectators
who came out to this small but very impressive Jam. It will definitely happen
again! (but only in the Summer months). If you were wondering what happened
to Betty and Rupert....they were called out to a larger more prestigious event,
damn MX, we made do with our own beats and entertaining. Good times.
The Zero Offset Jam final results:
1. Donovan Wright aka Dopey
2. Monde Xaba aka Cyber Punk
3. Vusi
4. Jama Kunene
5. Tshepo Lenong
6. Kwanele Makhoba aka Q tie
7. Bradley Karth aka Kurt
8. Danny Flax aka Haro Master
9. Justin Davis
10. Tim Lee aka Sibankey
11. Jabulani Makhoba aka Sjava.
I
have added more photo`s and a desktop wallpaper or 2 on the Forum.
Sean Shuping joins the Team. Sean will be getting hook up from Primo Products.
Welcome Sean! 4130 has the details.
Check out this awesome trails web site. They have a DVD out called "Till
we have faces" I'm working on getting some of these out here. In the meantime;
take a look at the "Photographs" and "Video" pages, some
high quality stuff on there. http://rdgbmx.com

This coming Sunday I will be hosting the Zero Offset Flatland
Jam at the Asia city Mall near Bruma Lake in Joburg.
This is a Flatland only event, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't swing by
and check it out. I'm expecting around 20 riders (that's allot for flatlanders)
and a pretty big crew of spectators.. Rupert and Betty have confirmed that they
be coming too, so we got a slamming sound system for all the hip hop heads.
Primo Products have graciously handed over a box full of freebies and prizes
so its turning out to be a pretty large gig..
Format will be a Jam session so it will be real mellow and anyone can take part.
See the poster or Forum
for more details.

The guys over at Trans Am BMX (Orchid and Little Devil USA) were cool enough
to post a photo of Matt Mcloed on their News site.
Check it. Matt Mcloed won the Rand Show as well as pulling the first ever
flip whip in a contest (in South Africa anyway). Nice going Matt.
The photo`s I promised last week that Malcom sent are now on the 4130
site.

The Joe Kid premier happened this last Saturday
night, it was a little wet at first but the rain stayed away for a few hours
and we managed to pull it off. Thanks Rupert/ Redbull for organizing and getting
all the necessary "red tape" sorted. Also a big thanks to all the
guys who made it down to the beach, im sure you all enjoyed the hot pizza. If
you couldn't make it this time; there`s always a next time!
I stole away for a few minutes and grabbed up a few shots of Rupert's 21"
Black bike.
Bike check going down!.

I'm just waiting on some final details from the winners of the Joe Kid give
away before I post it online. Hang tight it could be you!
The 1st annual BMX Racing Nationals went down this last weekend at the Golden
Horse BMX track in Petermaritzburg.
Apparently the turnout was huge; 160+ riders overall. That's quite a few. Believe
it or not there are even riders who come all the way from Zimbabwe to race!
Now that's dedication.
Its the first time that Petermaritzburg have had a National at this new track
and it was a good one. Its not a very high flying track so i did not get any
radical jumping photo's...pity eh?
I sponsored the 40 year+ Cruiser class aka "the ballies". Good fun
to see the older riders still chugging along and being competitive in there
sport.
I almost forgot! Brad Rowlett was racing the weekend too. He was looking real
smart in his Red/ Mongoose racing gear. Sounds like he did pretty well and had
a good time out there. Racing is a whole different ball game to freestyle BMX.

Malcolm Peters emailed a bunch of photo`s from
a recent session at the Somerset West mini. I will have them posted up on the
4130 site soon. Incredible.
Malcolm should be getting his Fit Flow fork in the next day or two, he destroyed
his last pair of forks at Boogaloos today. I've asked Malcolm for a bike check
so I hope to have that online sometime soon.
Rupert will be down this weekend with Betty, I have organized with him to have
that Joe Kid DVD Premier at the concrete park. Betty
will be there so good times are to be had. Its happening at on Saturday night.
We`ll kick off at around 7pm. Be there if you can. Free shit and prizes to be
had.
Check out all our winter clothing in the Prod News section
and also in the Catalog, We got some real nice stuff. If Little Devil isn't

The Forum
is on fire! After banning a member or two over the weekend; someone decided
to come back and throw a short but futile little tantrum today.
Its a shame, shame shame....anyways in regards to the whole Boogaloos and Monte
Casino thing; a Boogs representative decided to join in and clear a few things
up. Best
check it out if you keen to give the Monte Casino Boogaloos park a go.
Here's a quick bike check. Michael's Fit Flow outta Bloemfontein.

Arrived back from Bloemfontein on Wednesday
morning. I hung out with Michael, Werner, Sean and "Gaga" -a kid
who has the worst luck with blowouts We hit all the spots around Bloem as
well as the Area 51 skate park.
It rained quite allot while I was in town so i wasn't able to get to all the
legendary street spots...here`s a few photo`s of what went down.

Bloemfontein had a killer rider scene a few years back but it seems most of
those cats have all disappeared. Most have moved out of town (including me)
or just quit. Pity 'cos there`s some killer
places to ride, if you in the area with your bike you should hit up some of
these spots.
