The Ghetto Jam was a huge success. A massive thank you to everyone who helped out and showed up to ride and spectate on Sunday. We had a great turnout of riders from all over the country. The weather was a little shitty over the 2 days but we managed to have an kick ass time. I had a easy schedule for the day and fired off Am and Pro runs as they happened. The judging was loose but fair I think, Amateur riders judged the Pro's and Pro's decided on the winners for the Am's.
The Props High Hop
attempt was rained and prize giving was a washout too but everyone who was there said they had a great time.

I am busy with the spans of photo`s and footage of the Sundays riding and should have some more online soon. In the meantime if you havent seen the photo's from the Saturday, check them out. Here are the results from the '06 BMX Direct Ghetto Jam.

Pro:
1. Chris Barnes
2. Roscoe Siebers
3. Stuart Loudon

Amateurs:
1. Zack Mthembu
2. Darren van Wyk
3. Eddie- from Cape Town.

Saturday was a cracker of a morning, the sun was blazin as we began building at the park for the Jam. We got lost looking for BPO (Bidfreight Port Operations) down at the docks but managed to find them just in time before they closed for the weekend. BPO supplied us with enough pallets to erect a solid spine and a couple of curved wallrides. It rained heavily in the afternoon but we missioned on through it to get as much done as possible. We were pretty much ready for Sunday except for a few minor preparations that needed to be done.

Roscoe took the boys out to see the Finkelsteins at a very wet Wavehouse that evening and things got loose. A good few tequilas were passed around and not much sleep was had as the crew crawled home in the wee hours of the morning.

Many hands = light work.

Darryn always muckin about.

Yesterday we spent the day preparing for the jam. The pick up truck arrived bright and early loaded up the scrap wood and pallets and moved on down to the concrete park. A whole crew of riders helped with the unloading and repacking so it went down pretty fast. Things are looking pretty good and it looks like the weather is going to hold. Check the Ghetto page for more splurb.....

Thats a biiig truck yo.

3 more out of town riders also pitched up, team rider Phil from Somerset West, Danny Flax from up in Joburg and xWaterfall resident Wesley Combrink all in town for the Jam and the buildoff happening tomorrow..

3 P.E cats were stranded in Durbs today and needed a spot to crash for the night, ofcourse a bondi (bonfire an beer) session went down and everone kicked back and chilled. The Jam kicks off at 1 on Sunday.

Not a tour tshirt insight!

Darryn and Jeff took a couple of photo`s of the session at the Indigo ramp in the Valley of a 1000 Hills in KZN. Here`s an overview of the ramp.
Darryn, Jeff, 'The Yeti', Warrick, Travis, Cape Town Eddie and Jaque all spent the afternoon filming and having a good time. I missed out on the session- had to finalise a few things for the Ghetto Jam happening on Sunday...

Jacques looking back.

15 year old Dstar.

Maritzburg session went down yesterday and we hit 2 spots in the blazing sun, boy it was hot. We rode the titty bowls and then hooked up with Brett Hancock and Greg Minaar at the biggest 5 pack speed jumps i have ever seen. Whips, flips, Xups and some big ass jumps. Scroll down for some photo's.

I have not heard from Stuart, Chris Barnes or Dale yet...they must be having a good time up in Joburg on that tour. Will try reach em tomorrow.

Rocking downside tables.

Rudi putting it down.

Jacques doing what he does best..

Stuart Lang MX style tuck-table thing. Too good.

Roscoe, Darryn, Jacques, Jeff, JMC, Eddie, Travis and Warrick rode the Indigo ramp. I stayed behind at the office to catch up on some work but they had a blast and took a bunch of nice photo's. Photo`s soon.

Friends and Team riders have been having a blast in Durban the last couple o' days, we been hitting up all the spots around town and stopped by Petermaritzburg today. Everyone is very excited about the Jam happening this Sunday I cant believe the feedback. Riders from all over S.A are going to be at this one, stoked! The Props Hop-O-Meter is done but the big screen is taking longer than expected...

Big news for us is that we have a brand spanking new Team rider. Dstar has been a good friend for longtime and it was about time that he got sorted properly....Dstar cleaned up at the Fox Comp, he killed the Am class and walked away with a well deserved 1st place. Darryn van Wyk better known as Dstar is riding and representing Fit Bike Co. in S.A Welcome aboard lad!

High 5s and bear hugs.

Here`s a few photos and details from the Fox comp that went down on Monday
.
Stuart Loudon placed 6th in the Pro class, that was just behind Greg Illingworth, Malcolm Peters, Tyrone Bradley, Mat Mcloed, Paul Soderlund and his bro Colin. Pretty darn good for a young shredder with only a couple of years under the belt.

Roscoe came so close to pulling these front flips to flat.

Roscoe Siebers - front flipping the quarter to flat.

Stuart Lang entered Pro and said he was gonna 'boost' the box...boost indeed.

Stuart Lang- boosting the box. 8ft??

Mat Mcloed flip-whipping the box on Rudi's bike!

I`ll post some news later on a fun session we had at the Petermaritzburg trails and titty bowls
today.

Check these out!!
Ghetto News.

Lack of 411 updates has been terrible, I know, Its been nutters here with so much going on. Let me fill ya in a little...the Ghetto posters are out and around S.A check the Ghetto news for the low down on that. More wood, pallets and a huge wooden cable reel arrived at my place yesterday for the Jam...plenty team news: Jeff and Jacques arrived yesterday from Joburg/Sasolburg and we hit the beach today for a semi windy-semi rainy session. I've uploaded Jeffs 2minute street run to his Team page so check that out. Phil has confirmed that he`s down for the jam (well stoked about that). MIA team rider Raju Patel phoned from the UK today; said he just got a new bike and is back up and riding. Ross and Roscoe will be arriving in Durbs too in the next few days. Good friend Jeff (aka JMC) is also in town for the Ghetto Jam and has just pimped his bike. Pics to follow.
I will post some photo`s in the next day or too.

If you havernt been by the Fit Bike Co website recently it has been refreshed, there's a spy photo of the new Fit seat up on there too...http://fitbikeco.com

KHE Geisha hubs are in! Get em while there here, supplies are VERY limited.
The Geisha hubs are standard 36hole right side drive only. I have 9t or 11t options availble and a choice of 3/8"th for flatlanders and 14mm option for you street cats.
Like i said stocks are limited and these hubs are darn fine. The mechanism inside is very unique and very light. There are 3 'slack' options available, so you may set the amount of play you would like to run in the hub, its as simple as adding or removing a washer from inside the hub. R1300 with any of the above options.

The full photo in here.

The KHE Tanaka fork was my first choice of fork after my last fork retired after 4 years of hard service. Its fine oh so fine...zero rake, 3/8th axle slots, 800 grams, full japanese tubing, alloy stem cap and available with a choice of mounts or no mounts. Whats interesting is that the brake mounts are removable from the fork. We have both the brakeless and 990 mount forks availble. R1000 per fork, finest quality flatland fork out there in my opinion.

Removable brake mounts, zero rake.

The 1st box of KHE goods arrived late last week. Tanaka forks and How To DVD's. Flatlanders can now enjoy quality zero offset forks with or without mounts. More details and specs to be added as all the stock arrives. See KHE for more. http://khebikes.com
If your waiting on those Geisha hubs, I expect those sometime this week.
I will keep you posted.

Super lite, super stiff. With or without brake mounts.

Lets do this! Its Friday and its time for some good sessions to go down, enough of the rain already!
Things have started to fall into place for the ghetto jam. I had not fully realised the extrent of the preperations that has been going on for this event up till today. I wont say too much here as Im about to post an update on the Ghetto Jam news page. Here`s the poster. Its finished and going to print tomorrow.

Young D*star aka Darryn buzzed me this morning and said that he had heard of a concrete mini and spine near a friends house in Kloof. I'm thinking yeah right- thats just down the road from my place...we head out, pick up Stuart and Justin and a couple of minutes later we come across this brand new concrete mini slash spine. Happy indeed.
About 6 foot high and 10 foot wide and not even 2 days old. Click here for 2 more photo's

Stuart and Justin. Stoked on the new Hillcrest spot.

Live in or around the Durban area? We could use your help...

We still need a couple more pallets to feel that we have enough. There is a curved wallride planned and it is going to require alot more pallets than we can afford on 1 obsticle. You may see these posters and flyers around Durban. Help out where you can.
