Lets do this! Its Friday and its time for some good sessions to go down, enough of the rain already!
Things have started to fall into place for the ghetto jam. I had not fully realised the extrent of the preperations that has been going on for this event up till today. I wont say too much here as Im about to post an update on the Ghetto Jam news page. Here`s the poster. Its finished and going to print tomorrow.

Young D*star aka Darryn buzzed me this morning and said that he had heard of a concrete mini and spine near a friends house in Kloof. I'm thinking yeah right- thats just down the road from my place...we head out, pick up Stuart and Justin and a couple of minutes later we come across this brand new concrete mini slash spine. Happy indeed.
About 6 foot high and 10 foot wide and not even 2 days old. Click here for 2 more photo's

Stuart and Justin. Stoked on the new Hillcrest spot.

Live in or around the Durban area? We could use your help...

We still need a couple more pallets to feel that we have enough. There is a curved wallride planned and it is going to require alot more pallets than we can afford on 1 obsticle. You may see these posters and flyers around Durban. Help out where you can.

The Team pages are up! Most of the rider pages are complete; video clips, photo's and bike checks...I'm having a few minor problems getting Jeff's two minute long street section to encode and Phil's mini video part just doesn't want to load corectly! gah technology!

We have a new edition to the BMX Direct Team for 2007 Ross Brown. Ross is a young rider out of P.E that caught my eye earlier in the year. You will be seeing allot more of this rider in the future at contests and in Durban. I'm hoping to get a few more photo's and video clips soon to complete his Team page. Probably only after the Ghetto Jam though...
More team news going down; Its official Jacques Fourie will be moving to Durbs in December! That's good news for us as well as the Durban scene, Jacques killed his job in Joburg and is stoked to be moving down to Durban for good. The photo on the main page was taken by his GF recently and it was too good not to use on the site.

Things are well underway for the ghetto jam. The stack of ghetto wood and pallets grows weekly with contributions and scavenger missions around the local neighborhoods.

Ghetto ass setup.

Can you say curved wall ride!.

Look out for Props Road Fools 15 and Props Issue 61 arriving later this week.

You know its a small world when you bump into a guy that grew up in the same village as you 20 odd years ago (yes I said village). Way back, and I mean way back when I started racing in Maseru I lived in a real small town called 'TY'. This town is about 2 and a half hours drive in to the mountains of Lesotho.
if you have been to Lesotho you will know that's a long way, anyway's Raymond calls me up from Joburg and says he's moving down to Durban in the summer and needs a new ride, so we get talking and bobs-your-sister he used to live down the road from me all those years ago.
So we hook Raymond up real good with a Fit Flow- Edwin style, just as he likes it. He is stoked to say the least. Raymond is down at the beach almost everyday now sessioning the concrete park in preparation for the Ghetto Jam. (official announcement coming tomorrow).

Welcome to Durbs Rayzah!

Phil dropped an update on his site about that Lays TV commercial I was telling you about last week. That water looks damn cold, I hope they paying you well son.

Roll camera.

Linear Death cables are in stock as of today. 2 new colors are available grey and translucent black(kind of a clear black color) White and regular black are plentiful too. The price is up a little due to the exchange rate and shipping cost, but that shouldn't stop you from buying quality. R70 a pop.

We have a new mascot here at BMX Direct. Can you guess?

Things are looking good for the Ghetto Jam, I`ll have a few more announcements to make over the weekend. The poster/flyer will also hopefully get done as soon as the rain lets up and gives us a chance to shoot some photo's.

The Local Mfg web page is almost complete. As soon as Phil gets a break from his busy filming schedule I'm sure he will attend to it. Check Cape Direct BMX for a little bit of what he has been up to. http://capedirectbmx.co.za/

Login on the
Forums and take a peek at the freecoaster guide I put together, it covers a few of the more popular freecoaster hubs out there today, get a clue on what many of the overseas Pro's are rolling back on.
