The weekend weather is looking dismal, forget the Friday beach session and the Saturday street mission...its going to be a wet weekend for allot of us.

Plans are well underway for the Beach Park Ghetto Jam happening on the 14th of December. I'm planning 3 teams to build up whatever they can conjure up from pallets, plywood and sheet metal...sound interesting? More details on the events page. Oh yeah and Kendal is heading up the Durban Team!

2 brand new area's have been opened up on the BD BD Forums. The Bike Space and a BMX Review area, if you feel like reading a couple of member submitted reviews hit that up. The Bike Space is an area where you may post photo's of your bike along with all the specs and modifications you have done. My bike is at the powdercoaters this week, I'm hoping to have it back sometime today, I`ll post an update of it over the weekend sometime.

If you have purchased a wheel from us in the last few years then you are more than likely cruisin' on a wheel built by the 'Sibling'. Sibling has been helping me out for a good while now building all the wheels that I dont have time to do myself...(yup all our wheels are hand built and trued on the day). Some weeks it gets quite intense, especially when a fresh delivery of hubs or rims arrive then we have to hussle and get some ready for out going orders. High 5 Sibling and a 'keep it up' or I would be under a 6 foot pile of spokes and rims!

I spoke of a custom frame from Quamen Bikes late last month and snapped a few photo's of a very proud owners Quamen Clad G7 frame. This is Danny's Quamen and this one is very special; Quamen only made 50 of these frames in gold earlier in the year and unfortunately they sold out before we could get one! I put in a request for one more of these blingin' bad boys and a few weeks later it was ready, Danny is stoked to say the least!
Talk about will power- Danny has decided to complete his Matric exams before he even goes near his new frame. Expect a few photo's of a built up bike in a couple of weeks, Danny will be stopping by BMX Direct in November to build and ride!. Who says flatland isn't growing!

BMX Racing Nationals is going down this weekend at Lahee park and I stopped by today to check it out. 'Cycle Crazy' (a bike shop that we supply in Natal) was at the track supplying goods and services...Lahee is notorius for some insane bails and this is proof of just how bad it can get...destroyed!!

This is not an optical illusion.

The owner of this wheel slammed front wheel first into the first double at Lahee, its huge! The rider is a-ok, the wheel took most of the impact. Not to worry I sorted the rider, Deon, with some nice new black 7K Primo Balance wheels, so he's rolling again in style. Riding photo's coming tomorrow (crash photo's if your lucky).

Mid week road trip!

This morning , totally spur of the moment, I rang Stu, brother Colin and Ashleigh and hit the road for an afternoons sesh in Petermaritzburg. 'maritzburg is about a 40 minute drive from our hood and has an abundance of very old but very rad riding spots. There are a couple of concrete mini's and a very tight shaped spine/mini ramp attached to a 'bra cup' type bowl, very tight indeed. After about half an hours worth of hang fives on a nearby bball court I got a puncture, so I sat the round out and took some snaps.
