With the winter blues kicking in you gonna need some fresh viewing material
for those extra cold days...
Our friends over at Props Visual have just sent
out our latest
shipment of DVD's which includes the brand new Props Rock
n Roll BMX tour.
Its presented by Fender Guitars, 20 pro BMXers joined 3 rock bands for a tour
through the Midwest on the first ever Road Fools Rock-N-Roll BMX Tour.
There's a video
preview and more info on the Props website.
Alongside the RRT we have Issue 63, 64 VM and fresh stock of Mega Tour 5 and
Road Fools 15.
The Lotek Vancouver Trip DVD isn't as new as the
Props titles but there sure is alot of hype about the Lotek Team! Vacouver
Trip arrives in 2 weeks. Preview
here. I like the Lotek videos they always have a fresh soundtrack.
Both these should be here before your coffee gets cold, usual DVD price
of around R160 a pop.

Phil just sent an email with the poster
attached and some details of the official opening of the indoor Old
School Park in Helderburg, Cape Town. Its going down
on Friday 4th of May and there are very limited tickets available.
Helderburg is situated in Somerset
West which
is about a 40min drive from Cape Town, so if you in the Kaap I hope
to see you there!
There is a cover charge but you cant complain about that especially
where there are live
bands, big screen TV, BMX shop and of course the best bit the brand
new freshly laid concrete trannies. The 'festivities' will
be ongoing late into the night.
More photo's of the final stages of
construction of OS Park on Phil's Hyouth web site: http://www.hyouth.co.za,

Its photo time. Bunch of
new photo's have been added to the Team page
galleries.
Check out awol rider Sean Shuping aka Boot for a couple of rad flatland
photo's sent in by Chris Robertson.
Jacques has been busy too, Wesbank has had a lick of paint recently and its looking pretty fresh, especially with Jaf tearing it up at 7 foot.
Stuart has been filming
allot for his video section, the shot below is from a tight run at a top secret
location up here in Hillcrest. Bar spin gap to turndown out over the stairs.
We have a new Team rider on the books now too....but
more on him soon.
I've
been promised photo's from the Dirt
Comp that I hear was
a huge success down Port Elizabeth this past weekend. Our boys flying
the BMX Direct flags high no doubt. Results and details on that to
soon.
Here's a photo of local shredder Ashley Pilgrim hitting
up a footjam at the beach park bowl. Photo taken by Darren.

Maybe its the fact that its Friday
the 13th or maybe because the rain just won't let up...The
mini ramp jam has been postponed to a later date due to the bad weather.
The construction guys over at the Church are not happy with the state
of the wet soggy conditions at the Church grounds and wont be pleased
if we ride rutts into the freshly laid trannies...they have
asked if riders could steer clear for a few days to allow the concrete
to dry thoroughly. ah well cant win em all ey? It hasn't been cancelled
just postponed to a later date. Hang loose, there a new date to be
announced pretty soon.

This weekend was to be the 'Lucky 7 Jam'
(on the 7th of April hence the lucky '7') at the Kloof Serepta Church
Mini Ramp...but allot of Durban riders are away at Splashy Fen....the
Church took the opportunity to start building phase
2 of the mini last week. A new quarter pipe, some steps, rail and a
wall ride is purposed.
Oh the Jam is now scheduled for the 14th of April,
next weekend. Details to follow.
Not
much to look at now but its going to be grand. |
Another
ramp project underway but this time down in the Cape, Phil is
working on a huge project to get his INDOOR PARK up
and running in Somerset West before winter rolls in (yes this year!)
A quick splurb from Phil....
"The indoor
skate park will be concrete. I designed it to ensure space efficiency
and flow. It will be open in approximately three weeks with a shop
fully stocked with BMX Direct goodies"
The "Old School Park" will
its own website up pretty soon, photo's, news, shop and contact
details.
If Phil has anything to do with those trannies you can be
sure you be getting some mad boost out of em, have you seen
that kid invert?!
Nice going Phil, see you at the grand opening.
Can
you say excited?! |
