The indoor skatepark at the Pavillion (Durban) is now open to BMXers. Due to new ownership they have set us aside 2 days in the week to session, all day! Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days and sessions start at 10am. Park closes at 7pm and they don't seem boverd with helmets (not sure how long that will last though).
The park is hella slippery and not many transitions around but there are some neat lines to be found.
Session fee's are R25 a sesh 10 to 2pm and 2pm to 7pm.
Atmosphere is awesome laid back and they rock out with some wicked beats and the occasional rock.
Click here or the photo below for more photo's of the park.

Yup you now have twice the opportunity to get your feet into some rider designed and ridden footwear, I mean why buy skate brand shoes if the money just goes to the fat cat skater companies?? What a weekend! The Old School Skate Park opening weekend was spectacular. 4 live bands, riders, many friends, skaters, park sluts, late night sessions....The organizers were only expecting 200 people that evening, but by the time the bands had just about finished it was announced that approximately 400 people had attended the nights festivities! Successful? I'd say so.

Although the park is indoor the weekend weather was grand, it made for some awesome riding and chilling at the park.
The music wasn't really my scene but everyone there was feelin it; Man in Suit, Failingforward, Enmity and Era of a Hero rocked the house. By the second set everyone was warmed up and well in the swing of things. Lets just say that the mosh pit/bowl was well sessioned.
The park is a strictly no smoking, no drugs and no alcohol zone so its a pretty safe and supervised area to hang out at. Couple of photo's posted, click on the ticket below.

If you are interested to see what the layout of the Old School Park looks like here's a bit of a photo tour...go! Or you could check out the Old School website.
