WHAT??!! South Africa getting some decent coverage in an International magazine?
Session BMX magazine

Without revealing too much click here for a quick peak...now read on below...

Durban Natal, South Africa scene check in the Session Mag.

Now if you are wanting to get your hands on one of these fine magazines...BMX Direct is proud to announce that we are now stocking the USA based Session BMX magazine. They are available right now! what's more is that they will be affordable and available in store and on subscription.
Session is packed with articles, stories, scene checks, rider bio's all submitted by riders like yourselves. Their are hardly any advertisements, I counted 9 Ad's, now that's not bad for a 100 page full gloss magazine. It gets better; get this issue at a special price of R45. The normal price on the shelf will be R50. Session is released bi-monthly, so that works out to about R25 a month for a quality BMX magazine, hell that's better than some of our local magazines and the content is 100% BMX.

Issue content: Durban scene check, Project Mayhem, Simpel session, Colorado getaway, Heath Pinters Jam, Kevin Kiraly Interview, Chicagoland, 2008 BMX Games, Cam White Hillside Jam...

So I was hoping to have a massive product update for you by now...with the shite weather down in Durban today our latest imports have been delayed. Sorry guys. I have been told that I can collect tomorrow first thing. So I guess the update is going to wait for the weekend as I know most of you are already howling with anticipation. Hang in there.

The Red Cross fund raiser event that happened over the weekend wasn't much to brag about. The Blunt ramp never actually made it to the venue and the turnout quite dismal. Oh well things take time I guess. Forums have some photo's.

This weeks bike check comes in from Ruan (aka Snowy) straight outta Cycle Maintenance Centre Plattekloof, Cape Town. Snowy was very specific with the parts he wanted to go into this ride. He even went as far as custom painting his brand new out the box S&M L.T.F. He threw in a bunch of unique mods (Tubeless conversion!)and custom bits which makes this ride super lite and super pimped!

This coming Sunday(15th) we will be out supporting and riding down at Durbans BAT Centre for a good cause. "Youth 4 Unity; The aim is to raise funds for the victims of xenophobic attacks and encourage solidarity within our community."
It sounds like a pretty big deal, they have some big names there entertaining the weekend all to raise funds for the Red Cross. Live Rock Bands, B-boys, Graff, Hip-Hop, Basketball 3on3, Skating and BMX. BMX Direct was asked to hook up a couple riders to bring the noise on the Blunt ramp. BMX Demo at 1pm. Hope to see as many of you Durban riders there.

S&M is bringing back the Dirt Bike. And its making allot of noise all over the web. What's cool about this frame is that its affordable (American Made) and will be now available with Mid BB and Integrated headset. Colors will be yellow, red, black (and I hear Olive Green?) Price info still coming. Holla if you interested, we placing orders soon.

Speaking of the Dirt Bike we got an email from Steven Walker (x-Jbay dude, now in the U.K) he just filled me in on his custom S&M L.A.F. He says "It's a factory custom, LAF with Dirtbike geometry. 20.2" toptube and 74.5" headtube angle." Is not a full bike check but 'ave alookie. Thanks Steve for the photo and info.

There is this ramp that's about 20kms from my front door, it doesn't get sessioned too often as the road is treacherous and the neighborhood rural to say the least. It's something of a marvel...a massive elevated (13ft?) half pipe on the side of a mountain in the valleys of rural Natal. Indigo's ramp is undergoing a revamp and we hit it up this afternoon on the sly. A couple of Hillcrest friends, Chris, Dstar and myself made the trek into the wilderness...

Easy day at Indigo.
